The Aver-iffin’s get engaged!

On March 22, 2005 Pablo and I got engaged. Right now we are in the very prelimenary stages of planning a wedding for spring 2006. We will post more information once we start making some decisions.

As of July 2006 some of the more important decisions about the wedding have been made. We set the date for Sunday, May 26, 2006. That’s Memorial Day weekend to give all the out-of-towners more time to travel. The place will be Cabell’s Mill in Walney Park in Fairfax, Virginia. The ceremony and the reception will be here. R&R catering will provide the food buffet style. Pablo’s mom is making the cake and the centerpieces for us. The wedding party consists of Vlad, the best man, Roger, Pablo’s brother, and my brother Ed. On the girls side are Erin and Stephanie. Pablo’s good friend, Matt, has agreed to perform the ceremony. We are really excited about that! I ordered my dress about two months ago and Stephanie is loaning me her veil and headpiece to wear. It is all so exciting! Next we are looking for a D.J. and a photographer.

So as it turns out we found out we were pregnant in late July. That changed a lot of our wedding plans. The date has been moved back to September 30, 2006. We wanted our baby to be a little older and I did not want the stress of giving birth and having a wedding all within a few months. The ceremony and recpetion are still at the same location. We have decided not to have a bridal party and keep the ceremony as simple as possible. Because of our focus shifting to the birth of our daughter, we are still looking for a DJ and photographer. It is our goal to start getting the wedding stuff finished since we are now pretty much ready for our baby.
